Easter Basket Food Drive Ends Soon!

Looking for a meaningful Lenten resolution?  Participate in the STM Easter Basket Food Drive supporting St. Andrew Nativity School in NE Portland!  Our goal is to provide an EASTER DINNER food box with a ham to all 78 families at Nativity School.  We will include an Easter Basket of treats for each family too.

Easter Egg tags & instructions are on the Easter Tree in the rear of the church.  Please take a tag and we will give you a recyclable shopping bag and (a short & simple!) shopping list.  Please return the filled bag to church by Palm Sunday, March 29th.  Tags for cash and Easter treats will be available too.  REMEMBER, NO PERISHABLE ITEMS WILL BE COLLECTED.  Thank you!  Questions ???  Call Robin Becic at 503-297-4639.

Stations of the Cross

Every Friday during Lent, please join us in the Church for Stations of the Cross at 7pm.

Building Homes, Building Lives

St. Thomas More is helping Habitat for Humanity with their Interfaith Build.  We are looking for volunteers the first Wednesday of each month and a designated weekend each month.  If you are interested, sign up sheets are in the church entry.  No experience is necessary!  If you have any questions, please contact Heather Daron at heatherdaron@yahoo.com.

Little Angels Sunday Preschool (2 1/2 – 4 1/2 years)

The Little Angels Sunday Preschool meets on Sundays during the 10am Mass.  Parents check their preschool children in at the church entrance and then be seated.  The children will exit the church right after the opening prayer and go to the Kindergarten classroom during Mass.  Preschool childen will be picked up at the Kindergarten classroom door after Mass.  Parents of participating families will be expected to take turns being classroom helpers.  If you have questions, contact Kim Zea at kzea@stmpdx.org or call 503-222-2055.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)

All parish children in grades K-5 are invited to join us during the Liturgy of the Word at the Sunday 10am Mass.  During this time, the children will hear the Sunday readings in a story they will understand.  They will have an opportunity to share with each other what Christ’s message is for all of us.  The children will return to Mass to rejoin the congregation at the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

Volunteer Opportunities

We have new dates in 2015 for parishioners to volunteer at the Blanchet House soup kitchen. Sign-up sheets are located in the church entries.  We are committed to providing 10 volunteers each time. Children who volunteer with a parent must be in the 6th grade or older. To sign up, please call Kim Zea at 503-222-2055. If a conflict arises and you’re unable to fill your spot, please contact Kim.
